Walter was born on August 31, 1929, at the Old Sacred Heart Hospital to Fredrick and Elizabeth (Allen) Dion. He was the 13th child; he had 6 brothers and 6 sisters with one brother passing away at birth. He married Barbara Hughes on August 4, 1951 and to this union they had 3 children. Read More	Havre —Walter Dion, 85, passed away of natural causes on Saturday, April 18, 2015, at Northern Montana Care Center. Walter was born on August 31, 1929, at the Old Sacred Heart Hospital to Fredrick and Elizabeth (Allen) Dion. He was the 13th child; he had 6 brothers and 6 sisters with one brother passing away at birth. He married Barbara Hughes on August 4, 1951 and to this union they had 3 children. They had a heartfelt loving marriage for 63 years. Walter enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing cards. He loved to fly his own Cessna 182 airplane. He flew for 12 years. For 45 years he farmed and ranched, in between time, he painted, hauled cattle, and did custom cutting and bailing hay. He also helped move people and their families to other towns throughout Montana. After retirement, Walter and Barbara spent 15 years wintering in Yuma, Arizona; where he enjoyed meeting new friends, having potlucks, and of course playing cards. He was a dedicated member of Knights of Columbus, the Elks Club and Eagles in Havre. Walter will be deeply missed by all. Walter was preceded in death by his son, Gary Alan Dion in 2010; his parents, Fredrick and Elizabeth (Allen) Dion; and all 12 of his brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife; his daughter; a son Scott; and 6 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren; as well as, several beloved nieces and nephews.
