Mr. Seigle, accompanied by Messrs Martin Fitzpatrick and John Barr, had gone to Texas the week before on a land excursion. Before leaving Mr. Siegel had a slight cold but is was not thought alarming, but after reaching the southland the cold continued and a day or so before time for return he went to bed and his physician assured the rest of the party that Mr. Siegle was not dangerously ill and that it was better for them to return. Mr. Barr however, remained, and was with him when the end came on Sunday Morning. No details of the death have been received by the relatives. The body is expected today and the funeral will be private. Mr. Siegle was a progressive farmer, happy and prosperous, thoroughly reliable and his untimely death is not only a great blow to his family but to the entire community. Wentzel Siegel was born in Austria, August 12th, 1882. He came to America in 1908, and on February 4th, 1917 he was united in marriage to Miss Helen Schneider. To this union were born two children John Joseph and Mary Teresa. He died at McAllen, Texas, Sunday Feb. 8th. Besides the wife and children he leaves a father, mother, two sisters and one brother in Austria. Manchester Democrat - Manchester, Iowa - February 18, 1920
