Services at the Methodist Church there were in charge of Rev. S. E. Ryan, Brandonville, W. Va. Mr. Friend was born June 6, 1896, at White Rock, a son of S. M. Friend, Sang Run, and the late Delia Alice Friend. He held membership in Sang Run Methodist Church. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Maude F. Friend; three sons, Arnold G., Homer J. and Russell G. Friend, and a daughter, Mrs. Ruth Irene Spiker, all of Sang Run; three brothers, Ralph and Roy Friend, Sang Run, and Earl Friend, Steubenville, Ohio; three sisters, Mrs. Gladys Keefer and Mrs. Edna Faust, Pittsburg, and Mrs. Odessa Bishoff, Oakland, and eight grandchildren.
