He was born on Aug. 20, 1877, in Johnson County, Nebr, the son of William Hahn and Sophia Marie F. Rathmann. On May 9, 1901, he was united in marriage to Minnie Walkenhorst, with the marriage taking place at Johnson, Nebraska. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, near Johnson. He was born on Aug. 20, 1877, in Johnson County, Nebr, the son of William Hahn and Sophia Marie F. Rathmann. On May 9, 1901, he was united in marriage to Minnie Walkenhorst, with the marriage taking place at Johnson, Nebraska. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, near Johnson. Those surviving him are: his wife, six sons, Fred, Ervin, Elmer, Walter, and Arnold, all of Johnson, and Glen of Dayton, Ohio; five brothers, Andrew, Falls City, Charles, Emil and Louis, Johnson, Herman, Tecumseh; and one sister, Mrs. Frances Kuhlman, Johnson. Funeral services were held on Monday June 30, 1947, at 1:30 p.m. at the home and at 2:00 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church, Rev. F. K. Kumpf officiating. The men's choir sang "The Lord Is My Shepherd," and "Take Thou My Hand and Lead Me." Pallbearers were the six sons. Those in charge of the flowers were: Mrs. F. K. Kumpf, Mrs. Fred Holtgrewe and Mrs. Arnold Wagner. Those attending the services from a distance were: Mr. and Mrs. Albert Wilhelm, Renwick, IA.; Mr. and Mrs. LaVern Goering, Lincoln. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Hahn, Avoca, IA. George Hahn, Shenandoah, IA.; Mr. and Mrs. Tom Atkins, Falls City, Mr. and Mrs. Orville Brock, Falls City, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Peterson, Cook, Nebr. Casey Brothers of Johnson were in charge of arrangements with interment in Zion Cemetery.
