Mockbee, formerly a shoe merchant of this city, died yesterday of paralysis at his home in Brook[e]ville, Montgomery County, Md. Mr. Mockbee was stricken about two weeks ago, shortly after attaining the age of seventy-two years. His condition gradually grew worse, and death resulted, as stated. The funeral will be held in Dickerson at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon, with interment in Monocacy Cemetery, Beallsville. Retiring from business about eight years ago, Mr. Mockbee removed to Montgomery County. He was prominently identified with fraternal organizations, and for several years was past grand chancellor in the Knights of Pythias. He was an active worker in the Pythian Excelsior Lodge. The deceased was twice married, his first wife having been Miss Sarah R. Edmonston, daughter of Elijah Edmonston. Two children from this union survive Mr. Mockbee — Mrs. E. P. Taylor, Jr., and Henry F. Mockbee. About seven or eight years ago, he married Miss Margaret Jones of Dickerson, who, with a daughter, also survive him.
