He was born Sept. 8, 1918, on Brewster Flat, and was a lifelong resident of the Brewster community. Read More	Willis McLean: Life-long resident and community leader dies Willis E. "Mac" McLean, 62, Brewster, died Thursday at Sacred Heart Hospital, following a brief illness. He was born Sept. 8, 1918, on Brewster Flat, and was a lifelong resident of the Brewster community. Following four years of active military duty in the South Pacific during World War II, he married Inez Barker on Feb. 14, 1946, in Okanogan. Mr. McLean was retired from the Army Corps of Engineers and was in the hardware business in Brewster for 12 years. He served on the Brewster City Council for 17 years. He was a member of the New Testament Baptist Church, the American Legion Post No. 97, Columbia Lodge No. 193, F&AM, Brewster Grange No. 1018, and the Brewster Senior Citizens. Survivors include his wife, Inez, at home; one daughter, Mrs. John (Nancy) Hunter, Brewster; two sons, Larry McLean, Spokane and Roy McLean, Kennewick; one brother, Eugene McLean, Omak. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Ellen McLean, and a brother, Clifford, who died in 1977. Services were held Monday, January 26, at 1:00 pm at the Barnes Chapel in Brewster with Rev. David Lockridge, and Columbia Post No. 97, American Legion officiating. Private interment was held. The family suggests memorial gifts be given to the American Cancer Society, c/o Mrs. Scott Hull, Chm., Box 175, Brewster, WA 98812, of the American Heart Association, c/o Mrs. Kermit Stennis, 351 Warren Ave, Pateros, WA 98846. Arrangements by Barnes Chapel, Brewster.
