Description	:	Wilma "Pauline" Parker, 95, of rural Robinson, died peacefully Wednesday evening, August 28, 2013, at Maple Heights Nursing Home in Hiawatha. Pauline, as she was known to family and friends, was born July 8, 1918, at Rocky Mount, Missouri, one of three children born to H.E. and Vertie Mae Lehew Holder. Read More	Wilma "Pauline" Parker, 95, of rural Robinson, died peacefully Wednesday evening, August 28, 2013, at Maple Heights Nursing Home in Hiawatha. Pauline, as she was known to family and friends, was born July 8, 1918, at Rocky Mount, Missouri, one of three children born to H.E. and Vertie Mae Lehew Holder. The family moved to Nebraska when Pauline was small and settled north of Falls City where she attended country school and grew up. Mrs. Parker was a longtime member of Zion United Methodist Church of Robinson, and the UMW of the Church. When Packy was younger, she was a 4-H Leader for a number of years. Pauline was a lifelong member of the Order of Eastern Star of Robinson until it closed, becoming a member of Zenith Chapter #184, OES, of Hiawatha. She was a gray lady volunteer at the Hiawatha Community Hospital; and a member of the Red Hat ladies society. She loved to travel, enjoyed cooking for her family especially fried chicken. She couldn't swim, but was a great water skier. She always had time for Edwin. Pauline enjoyed quilting, flowers, and keeping her lawn at home immaculate. She married Avery E. Parker, January 13, 1940, at Maysville, Missouri. They farmed and raised cattle all of their married life north of Robinson. He died June 4, 1989. She was also preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her son Edwin "Packy" Parker and wife Becky, of Rulo, Nebraska; a sister Helen Ruth Hawks of Hiawatha, a brother Vincil Holder of Leona; two grandchildren: Brandon (Jessie) Parker of Firth, Nebraska, Karman (Matt) Buhr of Robinson; and eight great-grandchildren: Taylor, Tessa, Camee, Regan Parker, Connor, Evan, Karli, and Ava Buhr; and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Pauline's life is planned for 10:30 Tuesday morning, September 3, at Zion United Methodist Church, northeast of Robinson, with Reverend Paul Waters officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Hiawatha. Friends may call at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hiawatha after 10 a.m. Monday. An Eastern Star service will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, followed by the family visiting with friends until 8, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Pauline Parker Memorial Fund which may be sent in care of the funeral home, 124 S 7th St., 66434.
