Description | : | The land near Newton in Cheshire (formerly called Newton-near-Frodsham) originally included a Quaker Meeting house and a cottage. In 1677 the land was conveyed to William Gandy of Frandley and others in trust for the Society of Friends to establish a burial ground. Gandy had earlier given land and a building from his farm to establish the Frandley Society of Friends, which is still an active community.
