Farnum (26874292) and Jane Countryman Farnum (26874311) Miss Ada Farnum, 89, long time Sumner resident, died early Tuesday morning, March 30 at Western Home, Cedar Falls, where she had been a resident since 1964. Her death was attributed to complications incident to advanced age. Funeral services were held Thursday, April 1 at 2 p.m. at the Salem United Methodist Church with the pastor Rev. Emerson-Milnes Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Ada Adell Farnum was born Sept. 9, 1881 on a farm northwest of Sumner, the daughter of Beniah and Jane Countryman Farnum. In her early girlhood she joined the Baptist Church at Fredericksburg, later attending Finnell United Brethren Church, which was erected by her father and neighbors. After the family moved to Sumner in 1894, she attended the United Brethren and Salem E.U.B. churches. She was a member of the Berean Sunday School class. She cared for her invalid sister, Mrs. Hattie Leach for several years and later for her invalid mother who died in May 1920. On April 13, 1964, being unable to care for her home, she entered Western Home, Cedar Falls. Survivors include, Mrs, Arthur Farnum, 98 of Elk River, Minn., a cousin, Miss Esther Gault of Manotick, Ontario, Canada and several nieces and nephews including Gailord Farnum of Sumner and Mrs. Alta Chukker of Worthington, Minn.
