HOSTETTLER Hostetler -- After many years of suffering, much of which time he was confined to his bed, relief in the form of death, came about five o'clock Tuesday morning Sept 1, to Albert Hostetler, who had been a resident of Kansas for over a half century and of Wakefield the last two decades. And all through his trials, Mrs. Hostetler cared for him with a devotion that knew no bounds. He devoted much time in reading his Bible and religious books. And all through his trials, Mrs. Hostetler cared for him with a devotion that knew no bounds. He devoted much time in reading his Bible and religious books. Albert Hostettler was born March 23, 1862, at Berlin, Sumerset (sic) County, Penn., and passed away Sept. 1, 1931 at his home in Wakefield at the age of 69 years, 7 months and 7 days. He came to Kansas with his widowed mother, brothers and sisters, in 1879, settling on a farm east of Wakefield. On October 1, 1892, he was united in marriage to Emma Ritchie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ritchie at Port William, Ohio. He leaves to mourn his death: his devoted widow, one brother, Peter of Dickinson County; Dan and John having preceded him in death; four sisters: Mrs. Kate Karman of Milford, Mrs. Will Carpenter of Clay Center, Mrs. C. J. Sturtz and Mrs. John Shandy of this vicinity. Funeral services were held Thursday at 2 o'clock at the house and 2:30 o'clock at the Methodist church, with Rev. Samuel Cookson and Rev. C. B. Young in charge. Burial was in Highland cemetery.
