Description	:	Albert L. McCoy died at the home of his sister, Mrs M.M. Wise, five miles southeast of town Monday morning of this week at fifteen minutes past eight o'clock of consumption after a lingering illness, the last six weeks of which he was confined to his bed. McCoy died at the home of his sister, Mrs M.M. Carlson, pastor of the Methodist church at Nodaway. Interment was in the adjoining cemetery. Mr McCoy had lived in this vicinity ever since he was nine months of age. He was born in Van Buren county, Iowa, March 27, 1868. He enlisted in Co K, fourth regular volunteer infantry of Missouri April 27, 1898, and was mustered out January 4, 1899. Mr McCoy, who at one time was a strong, big, able bodied man, lost his health a few years ago. He had been in Texas and New Mexico about eighteen months in the hopes of regaining it but returned here last June and hopes of his recovery were soon abandoned. He stayed with his sister, Mrs Wise, most of the time and it was there he took to his bed for the last time. He was married August 27, 1890, to Miss Stella Day, now Mrs Steve Payton of Clarinda, and to them was born a daughter, Vera, who is now thirteen years of age. The little girl lives with her mother. Mr McCoy leaves a mother, eight brothers and three sisters, who have the sympathy of the community in their great bereavement. His mother, Mrs Mary McCoy, lives with her daughter, Mrs Wise. The names of his brothers and sisters are: Alva, Monroe and William McCoy and Mrs S.S. Heady and Mrs S.P. Edwards, who are the sons and daughters of Albert's father by his first wife; Charles, Fred and Curt McCoy and Mrs M.M. Wise of this vicinity and Jesse McCoy of Omaha, who are full brothers and sisters of Albert. Albert also has a half brother, William Young, who lives at Dodgeville, Wisconsin.
