Description	:	George Troudt, son of George and Emma Troudt, was born Febr. 25, 1885 in Norga, White Russia, and came to America at the age of seven years. He settled with his parents at Nelson, Neb., where he grew to manhood and later became a farmer. He passed away at his home in Nelson May 30, 1956 at the age of 71 years, 3 months and 5 days. On Oct. 15, 1906 he was united in marriage with Bernice Crigler. To this union were born five children, two of whom precede him in death: LeRoy, better known as "Buster," and an infant daughter Helen. He united with the Evangelical church (sic) in 1906 and later transferred to the Methodist church (sic) where he still held his membership at the time of his death. He was a loyal believer in the true Christian faith. Preceding him in death were three brothers: Henry, Adam, William (Billy); a half-brother, Chris; four sisters, Elizabeth Heinrich, Alice Jacoby, Katie Meetz, Louise Cole; and two half-sisters, Emma and Mary. George and his wife retired from the farm and on Nov. 1, 1943 moved to Nelson where he worked with his brother Ed in the blacksmith shop for the past 11 years. Surviving are his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Vivian Wilson and Mrs. Nellie Meyer, and a son, Ivan, all living in Nelson, and their families, including seven grandchildren, Clare Wilson, Willa Sorenson, Larry and Lynn Meyer, Bonnie, Sandra and Pamela Troudt, and two great grandsons, David Lee and Ricky Lynn Meyer. Also surviving are one sister, Mrs. Margaret Horn of California; three brothers, Conrad of California, John and Ed of Nelson, and a host of relatives and friends. He will be greatly missed as a citizen here in Nelson, as a neighbor to all who enjoyed him, and as a devoted husband and a kind and loving father. Services were conducted Saturday afternoon of last week at 3 o'clock in the Nelson Methodist church (sic), with the church pastor, the Reverend Lincoln B. Justice, officiating. Burial was made in the Nelson cemetery (sic). Mrs. Nova Hite presided at the piano, Mrs. Helene Ferebee and Mrs. Geneve Ferebee sang "Does Jesus Care" and "In The Garden." Pallbearers were William, Orville, Henry, Alec, Leslie and LaVern Troudt, nephews of the deceased. The Nelson Gazette, Thursday, June 7, 1956; pg. 5
