Mr. Pfeifer was born in Ellis, Kansas on December 23, 1935 the son of Andrew M. and Amelia "Molly" (Reidel) Pfeifer Sr. He was a veteran of the United States Army. "Andy" Pfeifer Jr., 71, of Topeka, died June 4, 2007 at a local hospital. Mr. Pfeifer was born in Ellis, Kansas on December 23, 1935 the son of Andrew M. and Amelia "Molly" (Reidel) Pfeifer Sr. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Andy was a graduate of Washburn University and received a B.A. degree in Business Administration. He also attended Washburn Law School. He retired as a Management Analyst for the Kansas Department of Human Resources in 1984 due to illness. He was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church. Andy married Wilma L. Short at Holy Name Catholic Church on February 24, 1968. She survives him. He is also survived by a sister, Mary Catherine Worley of Abilene, a niece Kathy Hagaman of Abilene, and two nephews, Dale Worley of Abilene and Dan Worley of Osborne. Kansas. Mr. Pfeifer will lie in state at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home after 2:00 p.m. on Thursday where his family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m. A Parish Prayer Service will be held at 6:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Name Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery with military honors. The family suggests memorial contributions to Midland Hospice Care, Inc., 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, Kansas 66603.
