Description	:	The Nelson Gazette (Nelson, NE), Thursday, February 19, 1953 Annie Laurie Orner, eldest daughter of Hannah and Benjamin Orner, was born Mar. 2, 1869 near Martinsville, Ind., and passed away at her home in Nelson Febr. 13, 1953, at the age of 83 years, 11 months and 11 days. Her father having passed on in 1888, she, with her mother and sisters, came to Nuckolls County in 1889, settling on a farm east of Nelson. Read More	The Nelson Gazette (Nelson, NE), Thursday, February 19, 1953 Annie Laurie Orner, eldest daughter of Hannah and Benjamin Orner, was born Mar. 2, 1869 near Martinsville, Ind., and passed away at her home in Nelson Febr. 13, 1953, at the age of 83 years, 11 months and 11 days. Her father having passed on in 1888, she, with her mother and sisters, came to Nuckolls County in 1889, settling on a farm east of Nelson. Later she went to Dundy County where she was united in marriage to John Bardsley, May 2, 1894. To this union were born three children, Wayne, William and Gladys. Her husband died Jan. 1st, 1900. Later she, with the children, came back to Nuckolls County, where she was united in marriage to Frank Francis, April 15, 1903. For 37 years she worked hard on the farm east of Nelson. Then they moved to Nelson, and two years later, Frank passed away on May 25, 1942. She was a loving wife and mother, a good neighbor and a friend to all, always ready and willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, and was greatly missed when failing health confined her in her home about six years ago. She leaves to mourn her passing one son, Wayne, and wife Frances, and two children, Mark and Kristan of Tulsa, Okla.; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Mary Bardsley and son, Richard, of Wauneta, Nebr.; one brother, Will Orner, of Pismo Beach, Calif.; five sisters, Mrs. Nellie Wright, Mrs. J.E. Portwood, and Lettie Orner of Nelson, Nebr., Mrs. Ida Whiting of Grand Island, Nebr., and Mrs. Mary Griffith of Redondo Beach, Calif. Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Klawitter Chapel here, the Reverend Harold J. Coates officiating. Burial was made in the Nelson cemetery (sic).
