Description	:	Arthur "Jack" Parker, 81, of 602 Glenwood Ave., died at Feb. 21, 2010, at Ridgewood Nursing and Rehab Center.He was born Aug. 15, 1928, in Ottumwa to Clarence and Hazel Bonney Parker. He married Rosetta Wheaton June 14, 1947. She preceded him in death Feb. 14, 2003.He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked at John Deere Ottumwa Works 30 years, retiring in 1981, and was a partner in Parker Brothers Tree Service for 31 years.He was a member of U.A.W. Local #74, O.B. He had been a member of the Optimist Club.Surviving are two sons, Joe (Marsha) Parker of Ottumwa and John (Carol) Parker of Altoona; a daughter, Karen Parker of Ottumwa; six grandchildren, Aaron, Jennifer, Emily and Hannah Parker, Jackie and David Lewis; four great-grandchildren, Lance, Mataya, Malany and Meggie Parker; two brothers, Russell "Gene" (Donna) Parker of Washington, Iowa, and Jim (Dixie) Parker of Ottumwa.He was preceded in death by a brother, Bob Parker, and three sisters, Marie Fuller, Irene Wintermote and Frances Borth.Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Reece Funeral Home; Pastor Bryan Wyldes officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery with military services conducted by O.B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion and Walter B. Schafer Post #775 Veterans of Foreign Wars. Casket bearers will be his grandchildren.Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Reece Funeral Home with the family present from 6-8 p.m.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wapello County Trails Council, P.O.
