Description	:	Mrs. Martin was born April 22, 1933, in Elloree, a daughter of Francis Irick Berry and the late William Ernest Berry Sr. She graduated from Winthrop College in 1955, with a bachelor's degree in elementary education. She taught school in Petersburg, Va., Elloree, St. Matthews Public Schools and Clarendon Hall Academy in Summerton. Before retiring from the public school system, she was the librarian for Elloree Elementary. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Elloree, where she taught Sunday school for 25 years. Read More	Mrs. Martin was born April 22, 1933, in Elloree, a daughter of Francis Irick Berry and the late William Ernest Berry Sr. She graduated from Winthrop College in 1955, with a bachelor's degree in elementary education. She taught school in Petersburg, Va., Elloree, St. Matthews Public Schools and Clarendon Hall Academy in Summerton. Before retiring from the public school system, she was the librarian for Elloree Elementary. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Elloree, where she taught Sunday school for 25 years. Mrs. Martin was a loving mother and grandmother, who rarely missed a sporting event in which one of her children or grandchildren participated. Throughout her lengthy illness, her friends and family marveled at her ability to rally when game time arrived. She was known and loved in Elloree and surrounding areas as "Miss Bobbie" and will always be remembered for her warm smile and loving greeting to whomever she met. Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Carl Francis "Tilly" Martin of the home; her mother, Frances Irick Berry of The Methodist Oaks; daughter, Karen Martin Brown and son-in-law, Bill of Holly Hill; son, the Rev. Dr. Carl Francis Martin Jr. and daughter-in-law, Peggi of Pickens; daughter, Jan Martin Stoudenmire and son-in-law, Frank of Elloree; brother, Ernest (Bill) Berry and sister-in-law, Betty of Easley; sister, Frances Lynn McKeown and brother-in-law, John of Jacksonville, Fla.; five grandchildren, Mary and Mandy Brown and Blake Brown, Lauren Martin, Barkley and Chase Stoudenmire. Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by a daughter, Carla Delane, and sister-in-law, Lois Martin Williams.
