Description	:	Not much is known about Uncle Benny. His early years were out at Milk River on his grandpa's cattle ranch. Later, Benny's dad and mom moved to Badger Creek and started a ranch there. He and Mary Rodger married in 1949. He went into the Navy. Afterwards he came back home to the Blackfeet Indian Reservation, later moving to Great Falls and lived out his life there. He went into the Navy. Afterwards he came back home to the Blackfeet Indian Reservation, later moving to Great Falls and lived out his life there. "Benny" Romsa of Great Falls, 78, a retired construction worker and U.S. Navy Veteran, died Nov. 5, 2002 at the Peace Hospice Facility of cancer. Funeral services have taken place with burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. O'Connor Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Romsa was born on Sept. 28, 1924 in Browning were he graduated from Browning High School. He also attended Western Montana College in Dillon. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1946. He married Mary Colleen Rodgers on May 7, 1949 at St. Ann's Cathedral in Great Falls. He worked for Nilson-Smith Construction, Cascade County, McIntyre Construction, and retired from the Teamsters Union, Local Union #45. In addition to the Teamsters Union, Local #45, he was a lifetime member of VFW Post 1087, a member of St. Joseph's Parish and Montana Cowboys Association. He enjoyed leatherwork, woodwork, rodeos, all sports activities and spending time with his horse, Junior. He is survived by his wife Mary C. Romsa of Great Falls, a daughter Donna Romsa Houle of Great Falls, sons Rodger Romsa, Larry and wife Traci Romsa of Great Falls, David Romsa of Missoula and Dan and wife Julie Romsa of Duluth, Minn., sisters Lucille McKay and Marie Croff of Browning, nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Jesse and Sarah Romsa and a great-grandson, Jordan Tesch.
