Beverly Ann Hoff was born December 9, 1931, in Treynor, the daughter of Paul and Olive (Trede) Hoff. The family moved to Council Bluffs 1942. She graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1950. She married William Harold Franz on June 5, 1954, in Council Bluffs. Together they worked for 30 years in the bowling business, first for Brunswick Corporation, then as an owners of Regal Lanes in Council Bluffs from 1981 to 1998. William preceded her in death on September 27, 2005. She was a member of Saint John Lutheran Church. She loved nature, gardening and her pets. She was an artist and enjoyed music, especially classic country and the blues. She always had a soft spot in her heart for artists, musicians and people who had a hard time fitting in with society. Surviving are two sons, Mark (Vicki) Franz and Joseph Franz, both of Council Bluffs; one daughter, Paula (Matthew) Radik of Council Bluffs; six grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Gina Franz; and two brothers, Richard Hoff and Ronald (Neta) Hoff, both of Council Bluffs. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, Scott Franz and one sister-in-law, Phyllis Franz. The Daily Nonpareil, May 7, 2008
