BLANCHE ANNA CHAUZA Blanche Anna Yoble, daughter of Frank and Josephine Yoble was born at Barneston, Nebr., Dec. 13, 1889, and passed away suddenly at the Pawnee hospital Oct. 23, 1968, at the age of 78 years, 10 months and 10 days. At the age of 12 she and her family moved to a farm east of DuBois. She was married to James Chauza Oct. 16, 1907. They resided on a farm soutwest of DuBois 35 years. To this union was born four children, Glenn and Arnold of DuBois; Adella Bryant of Phoenix, Ariz., and Joy of Davenport, Ia. In 1942 they purchased and moved to the former Rohlmeier farm on the outskirts of DuBois. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1957. She took Jesus as her Savior and was a member of the DuBois Bible Church. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her happy disposition won her many friends and happy memories. Next to her friends and family, her garden and flowers were one of her main enjoyments. Her parents, one sister and her husband preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn her passing the four children, 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Lillian Votroubek and Mrs. Olga Fankhauser of California, Mrs. Maggie Luke of Wisconsin and a brother, Edmund Yoble of DuBois, besides nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held in Pawnee City at the Calvary Bible Church Oct. 26 with the Rev. N.E. Hamilton officiating. Pall bearers were grandsons, Roy and Melvin Chauza,, Roger Chauza, Dale Bryant,Douglas Hinrichsen and Norman Barker. Freda Hofmann and Myrna Hayward were in charge of the flowers. Mrs. Forrest Binder and Mrs. Denver ?Davenport sang "In The Garden" and "Beyond The Sunset", accompanied by Mrs. Jon Klepper. Interment was in the DuBois cemetery beside her husband. Grandma was a very good cook, the family enjoyed big meals for the holidays at their home. After the meal the grandchildren would play carroms in the parlor using shooters made from window stops. Grandma was a skilled needlework artist, making many beautiful things to decorate her home. Her oatmeal cookies were the best I've ever ate! She always had flowers, keeping geraniums over the winter in tin cans set on the window sills. She had a large garden and always had the cave full of potatoes, carrots, turnips and canned vegetables and fruits.
