He was born Aug. 5, 1922, near Hayesville to Claude and Myra Reynolds Jacobs. He married Dorothy Showman on Oct., 18, 1947, in Rock Island, Ill.; she died Sept. 28, 1990. He graduated from Sigourney High School. He served in Europe during World War II from 1943-1946 in the U. S. Army. He was born Aug. 5, 1922, near Hayesville to Claude and Myra Reynolds Jacobs. He married Dorothy Showman on Oct., 18, 1947, in Rock Island, Ill.; she died Sept. 28, 1990. He is survived by two daughters, Linda Fowler of Wayland, Mo., and Beverly Jacobs of Sigourney; a daughter-in-law, Marla Schmitt, of Dyersville; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren two sisters, Peggy Bensmiller of Sigourney and Ruth Fry of Delta; and two brothers, Eugene of Sigourney and Carroll of Vancouver, Wash. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a son Bruce; a daughter Susan; two brothers, Robert and William "Stormy" and a sister, Bessie Van Orsdall. Services were held July 1, at Holm Funeral Home in Sigourney, the Rev. James Stout officiating. Burial was in Pennington Cemetery in Sigourney. Pall Bearers were; Dan, David and Donald Showman; Mel and Ray Snakenberg; and Frank Jacobs. Memorials may be given. Holm Funeral Home in Sigourney was in charge of the arrangements.
