He was born April 17, 1911, south of Sigourney, the son of Claude and Myra Reynolds Jacobs. He attended Chastaine rural school and Sigourney High School. He married Alma Matthews on March 17, 1934. She preceded him in death. He married Dorothy Dawson of Washing-ton on May 17, 1969. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; a daughter, Patricia Donaldson of Downing Mo.; two step-sons, Dan Dawson of Marion and Mark Dawson of Los Angeles; three grandchildren; a step-grandson; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Fry of Delta; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Robert, William (Stormy), Calvin (Jack) and Carroll; two sisters, Bessie Van Orsdall and Peggy Bensmiller; two grandsons, Michael and Matthew Shafranek; a step-grandson, David Donaldson; two great-grandsons, Jesse Shafranek and Daniel Thomas. Funeral services were held at Holm Funeral Home on Sun., March 7 with the Rev. Dirk Alspach and Rev. Jack Bonham officiating. Inurnment was in the West Bethel Cemetery at Hayesville. Arrangements were by Holm Funeral Home in Sigourney.
