Description	:	Carrie Poh was born in Red Willow County, Nebraska, on May 10, 1883. In 1896 she moved with her family to Thayer county (sic), where she spent her girlhood near Belvidere. On November 29, 1900, she was united in marriage with Eugene Ray at Belvidere, Nebraska. The young couple went to housekeeping on a farm between Hebron and Deshler, where they lived for ten years. Read More	Carrie Poh was born in Red Willow County, Nebraska, on May 10, 1883. In 1896 she moved with her family to Thayer county (sic), where she spent her girlhood near Belvidere. On November 29, 1900, she was united in marriage with Eugene Ray at Belvidere, Nebraska. The young couple went to housekeeping on a farm between Hebron and Deshler, where they lived for ten years. Then they moved to Stoddard, where they lived for ten years. At the end of this time they moved just west of Chester, where she has made her home for the past sixteen years. To this union were born seven children: Mrs. E.J. Underhill, of Hastings, Nebraska; Harlan, deceased Feb. 22, 1925; Mrs. Nona Stroh, of Choster (sic); Eugene Jr., of near Munden, Kansas; Myrtle, of Amelia, Nebraska, and John and Max at home. She united with the Chester M.E. Church in June, 1924, and retained her membership until her death. In February, 1936, she began doctoring for her health. She was taken to the Lincoln General Hospital on March 10, where she gradually failed until her death on Saturday, April 25, 1936, at the age of 52 years, 11 months and 15 days. Her sister, Mrs. Martha Rogers of Santa Anna, California, who patiently and tenderly attended her at the hospital during her long illness, is confined at the home today by reason of her own illness and is unable to attend the services. Surviving her are one brother, John Poh, of Ervine, California; two sisters, Mrs. Ida Wright, of Medford, Oregon, and Mrs. Martha Rogers, of Santa Anna, California. She is also survived by her husband and six of her children, together with seven grandchildren. Her passing was in entire accord with her oft-expressed wish that she might quietly slip away, almost unnoticed, those watching hardly noting just the time of her going away. Interment was in Chester Cemetery by the side of her son, Harlan.
