Description	:	Katherine C. Rohrer was born August 24, 1858, at Jacksonville, Morgan County, Illinois, and moved with her parents when about two years old to a farm near Lincoln, Illinois, where she grew to womanhood. She was married to John Crouse in 1881 and to this union five children were born. She and her husband came to Nebraska in 1889 and lived on a farm four miles northwest of Chester, Nebraska, until the death of her husband in 1911, when she moved to Chester. Rohrer was born August 24, 1858, at Jacksonville, Morgan County, Illinois, and moved with her parents when about two years old to a farm near Lincoln, Illinois, where she grew to womanhood. She was married to John Crouse in 1881 and to this union five children were born. She and her husband came to Nebraska in 1889 and lived on a farm four miles northwest of Chester, Nebraska, until the death of her husband in 1911, when she moved to Chester. She proved a good wife and mother and through her influence, her husband and all her children came into the Christian Church of which she has been a faithful member for nearly 54 years. Two children, May and Ella preceded her in death, two sons, John S. and William J. Crouse, one daughter, Mrs. Lena Larkins, 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, two brothers and many relatives and friends survive her. She departed this life October 8, 1948, at the age of 90 years, 1 month and 15 days. She suffered a stroke the night of October 5, from which she never rallied. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, October 10, at the Chester Christian Church with the Rev. Ralph Dyer of Hebron in charge. A quartette composed of Mrs. Melvin Crouse, Bonnie Moxham, Earnest Moxham and Kenneth Messman sang, accompanied by Mrs. Ray Truss. The pallbearers were Harold Crouse, Wilbert Crouse, Melvin Crouse, John Crouse, Jr., Willard Larkins and Latimer Walta. Burial was in the Chester Cemetery
