She attended Topeka Public Schools and business college in Topeka. She was formerly employed at the Santa Fe Railway offices and had worked at the Topeka Supply Depot until it closed. She was a member and past president of Chapter No. 1113, Jayhawk Barracks Auxiliary. She also was a member and past president of the Veterans of World War I Auxiliary. She was a member of the Widows of Foreign Wars, Beulah Chapter No. 34, Order of Eastern Star, the Eagles Lodge, the Moose Lodge, the Topeka Travel Club, Senior Citizens Choir, Eastminister Presbyterian Church and had been a volunteer worker for the Red Cross. She was married to Joseph J. Briar in June of 1930 at Topeka. He died in March of 1954. other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. John J. Patzel, Smith Center; a son, Dr. J. Scott Briar, Seattle, Wash.; a sister, Mrs. Venice Spray, Detroit, Mich.; 2 brothers, Robert J. Brosamer, Houston and Ben B. Brosamer, Topeka; 8 grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Burial will be in Prairie Home Cemetery northwest of Topeka.
