She grew up a "Lardner Girl", one of six sisters: Phyliss Warwick (deceased), Lorraine Laird, Claire Vanderbilt, Lynette Weeks, and Billee Landry, and five brothers, Lynford, Jim, George, Bob and Jon (all deceased). She grew up a "Lardner Girl", one of six sisters: Phyliss Warwick (deceased), Lorraine Laird, Claire Vanderbilt, Lynette Weeks, and Billee Landry, and five brothers, Lynford, Jim, George, Bob and Jon (all deceased). Jane graduated from Placer High School in 1936. In 1938 she married the love of her life, Charles Haydon. Together they built their home and raised three children: Claire Christensen (Dave), Bob (Connie) and Tom. Jane and Charles loved dancing, singing, and traveling in their RV with their many friends in the Elks Club. They entertained at big family gatherings and enjoyed 70 years or more of family camping trips to French Meadows. Charles died in 1990. Jane was a lifelong member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, sang in the choir and served on the altar guild 68 years. She also served on the election board and was a past member of the Placer County Grand Jury. She enjoyed bridge, the family garden, membership in the Thursday Club and Town and County, as well as many community events. She was the loving grandmother to eight grandsons, Scott and John Christensen, Matthew and Mitchell Haydon, and Glen, Neil, Ian and Max Haydon. She was great-grandma to six great-grandchildren, Kara and Kyle Christensen, and Brenn, Kate, Joshua and Jackson Haydon. Jane was a remarkable woman with a smile for all. A celebration of Jane's life will be held at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 124 Orange St., Auburn, Calif. on Friday, January 6, 2012 at 1 p.m. Interment will be at the New Auburn Cemetery, followed by a reception.
