Description	:	Cecil H. Goff JEFFERSON-Cecil H. Goff, 78, of Garrett Road, died Tuesday, May 9, 2000, at Ashtabula County Medical Center, following a two-year illness. Born Oct. 20, 1921, in Gustavus, he was the son of Oney and Grace (French) Goff. He lived in Jefferson and Ashtabula all his life, wintering in LaBelle and Inverness, Fla. the past 15 years. Goff, 78, of Garrett Road, died Tuesday, May 9, 2000, at Ashtabula County Medical Center, following a two-year illness. Born Oct. 20, 1921, in Gustavus, he was the son of Oney and Grace (French) Goff. He lived in Jefferson and Ashtabula all his life, wintering in LaBelle and Inverness, Fla. the past 15 years. He married Diane M. Condas Oct. 28, 1950, in Ashtabula. Mr. Goff worked for Lyons Transportation Lines Inc. for 28 years. He retired in 1984. He also owned and operated his own truck and worked for several other trucking firms. He was a member of the retired Teamsters union, and an avid RV traveler. He also enjoyed baseball, and took summers off work as a young man to play the sport. He also enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and doing yard work. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Deborah L. Kelner of Jefferson, Sandra L. Thomas of Westerville and Michelle D. Cole of Perry; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Leola Rodgers of Jefferson and Wilma Sabo of Andover; and two brothers, Leonard of Jefferson and Duane of California. Besides his parents, Mr. Goff was preceded in death by a sister, Aline; and three brothers: Donald, Ralph and Merle. Funeral is 2 p.m. Friday at Fleming Funeral Home, Inc., a Family Care Group affiliate, 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, wit hthe Rev. Bill McMinn, of Eagleville Bible Church, officiating. Cremation will follow. Private burial of ashes will take place at a later date in Oakdale Cemetery. Calling hours are noon to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Contributions may be given to Jefferson Area Little League, P.O. Box 69, Jefferson. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
