Gerstenkorn, 98, of Topeka, passed away on Monday, February 11, 2019, at Life Care Center of Seneca, Kansas. Cecilia was born on October 30, 1920, in Odin, Kansas, the daughter of John and Louisa Beran Boor. Cecilia married Julius Gerstenkorn on January 19, 1943. They enjoyed 67 years together, prior to his passing in 2010. Cecilia was a homemaker who loved to cook and care for her family. She also managed their dairy farm in Eskridge, KS, and later provided daycare at her home in Topeka. Cecilia belonged to Mater Dei /Holy Name Parish. She was an original member of the Rosary Circle and a funeral dinner volunteer for many years. Survivors include daughter Bernice (Dick); sons Kenneth (Vickie), Melvin and Ray (Karen); nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one sister, Alice (Ambrose); and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Richard and 15 brothers and sisters. A visitation will be held at Mater Dei Church/Holy Name, SW 10th & Clay, in Topeka from 9 to 10:15 am on Thursday, February 14, 2019. A rosary will be prayed at 10:15 before Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Topeka. Memorials to Mater Dei Catholic Church or Mater Dei School c/o Lauer Funeral Home.
