Edward played Roller Hockey for the Council Bluffs Aces and his dad, Clarence, was the coach. (Clarence was big in the Roller Hockey movement.) Edward served in the US Navy from Apr 1950-Apr 1954. Cause of death was bulbar pneumonia. Born in Council Bluffs, Liddick had lived here all his life except for the time he spent in the service during WWII. He was employed as a service station attendant in Omaha. He was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church. His survivors include; parents; widow, Betty of Oakland, Calif.; three children, Michael, Patti and Steven, of Council Bluffs; two step-children, Johnny and Vicki of Oakland, Calif.; two brothers, Claire of Council Bluffs, and Jerry, address not reported; three sisters, Dora Louise of Stuart, Ruth of Council Bluffs and Helen of Omaha. Woodring Funeral Home is in charge. FUNERAL FOR CHARLES E. LIDDICK, age 25, of 15 East Washington Ave., is Monday 2pm at Woodring Chapel. American Legion Rites at Cedar Lawn Cemetery. Following Edwards death, Clarence and Lillie adopted Edwards kids and also took in Edwards step kids. Their mom took off. Note: Sister Helen mentioned in obit was Clarences' daughter from his ex wife Ruth Helen Walker. Brother Jerry is presumed to be another son of James A. Kernes.
