She attended school in Texas County, MO area and came to Atchison in 1927 with her family. She was first employed at the Wilson Poultry Co. in Atchison. Read More	Clara Edna Mae Goodman (July 7, 1899 - May 26, 2002) Clara Edna "Mae" Goodman, 102, passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2002, at the Atchison Hospital. Mrs. Goodman was born July 7, 1899 in Texas County, MO, the daughter of George A. and Louisa Belle Stevens-Edwards Bowen. She attended school in Texas County, MO area and came to Atchison in 1927 with her family. She was first employed at the Wilson Poultry Co. in Atchison. Her job included picking chickens and crating eggs. Later, she was employed by both the Holly Nursing Home as a cook and as a nurse's aide. She loved to cook and was most noted for her pies and cinnamon rolls. She raised her own family of four and helped to raise most of her grandchildren. Edna Mae also enjoyed sewing, making quilts and fishing. She married James Sidney Goodman in March 1919 in Willow Springs, MO. He preceded her in death Nov. 21, 1957. She is survived by two daughters; Dottie Vandover and June Pennington, both of Atchison, sixteen grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren, and twelve great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons; George Goodman and Ernest Goodman, an infant daughter, a set of twins, seven brothers, and five sisters. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Hollingsworth, pastor of the first Baptist Church of Atchison, officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Edna Mae Goodman Memorial Fund for funeral expenses and may be left in care of the funeral home. *********************************************************** THE BROKEN CHAIN We little knew that morning, that God was going to call your name.
