Read More	* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * CLARA LELA (RITTER) BENBOW AGE – 82 of Osceola SERVICE HELD AT Kale Funeral Home - Osceola ~ 10:30 A.M. - Tuesday - August 28, 2007 INTERMENT Fremont Cemetery - Clarke County, Iowa Clara Lela Benbow, daughter of Charles Jackson Ritter and Mary Elva (Smith) Ritter, was born May 5, 1925 in Afton, Iowa. She passed away August 24, 2007 at Clarke County Hospital Extended Care in Osceola, Iowa at the age of 82. A lifetime resident of Clarke County, Clara graduated from high school and continued her education with Bachelor, Master and Doctrine degrees in education; she had a lifelong Superintendents certificate. She was a teacher/principal at Clarke Community, Interstate 35, and Murray schools. On May 23, 1944, Clara was united in marriage to Galen Arlie Benbow at Sheppard Field, Texas where Galen was stationed with the Air Force. They returned to Clarke County after Galen's discharge. Clara was his partner in the Lacelle Store and with his fulltime farming. She was a good cook and loved to entertain their friends. Clara was a member of Eagles Auxiliary and Clarke County Retired Teachers. She also belonged to Lacelle Methodist Church. Preceding Clara in death were her parents; husband; and brothers, Ernest and Arthur Ritter. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Nellie Ritter of Murray; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends as well as Guy Rinner who worked for Galen and Clara for 45 years and became the same as a son. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
