Read More	The following comes from the obituary of Colonel Farnsworth printed in the March 23, 1967 Edition of The Edgeley (ND) Mail: Mr. Farnsworth had passed away March 17, 1967 at the age of 84 at the Memorial Hospital at Ellendale, N. Dak. Colonel Wood Farnsworth was born March 21, 1882 at Hamilton, Minn. One of the five children of Mr. and Mrs. Marshall L. Farnsworth. He was reared in this southern Minnesota community and as a young man became a member of the Baptist Church there. In his early twenties he moved to Edgeley with his parents [1902], working as a telephone lineman and a painter. In 1904 he started farming and was married to Alice Amelia Hostetter (sic) on April 9, 1904 at Edgeley. They farmed [3 miles] south of Edgeley until 1920 when they sold their farm and equipment and moved to Oakland, Calif., returning here in the spring of 1921 because of his mother's health (Note: his mother Mary (Payne) Farnsworth died that year). That summer he began painting again, but returned to farming in the fall which he continued until 1937. When because of his wife's failing health he sold his farm and moved to Nampa, Idaho. They lived there until 1942. They returned to Edgeley, whereupon Mr. Farnsworth took up his paint brush and worked at this trade until retiring in 1957. In February 1917 he joined the Methodist Church at Edgeley and was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge of Edgeley until it was disbanded. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge AF&AM No. 41 of Edgeley at the time of his death and had been for forty years. Mr. and Mrs. Farnsworth were the parents of two sons, Roland and Marshall. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at the Edgeley Methodist Church on April 9, 1954. His wife passed away on July 12, 1962. Surviving him are his two sons, Roland and Marshall of Edgeley, one grand-daughter, Lorraine, two grandsons, Clifford and Vernard. There are six great-grandchildren.
