Description	:	Alfred was born January 18, 1916 in California, Harrison County, Iowa to James Forbes and Amy Rachel (Newell) Simpson. Sadly, his mother passed away in 1939. From at least 1935 to 1940, Alfred lived with his father, brother and sister-in-law, niece and nephew, and two lodgers at 616 West Iowa Avenue, Monona, Iowa. His father was a depot agent for the Chicago and Northwestern Railway, and he was working as a grocery clerk in town. He was honorably discharged January 16, 1946. On his application for a military tombstone, it was noted that his last place was 1907th SCU Ft. Lewis, Washington. Alfred Peter Simpson entered eternity June 13, 1956 in Los Angeles County, California.
