Description	:	James F. Simpson, 68 James was born at Montello, Wisconsin, October 6, 1882 to Peter and Margaret Simpson. In 1903, he went to Missouri Valley, Iowa to work for the railway company. Simpson, 68 James was born at Montello, Wisconsin, October 6, 1882 to Peter and Margaret Simpson. In 1903, he went to Missouri Valley, Iowa to work for the railway company. He was a railroad station agent for the Chicago and North Western Railway for over 40 years. In 1907 he married Amy Rachael Newell, and they were blessed with two sons. He came to Onawa, Iowa in 1923 and remained here until the year 1943, at which time he was transferred to Modale, Iowa. He retired from active railroad services at Modale in 1947. Mr. Simpson and W. A. Smith at one time were the owners of the Telephone Company at Missouri Valley, a business which they operated from 1907 to 1911 at which time they sold their interests to the Bell Telephone Company. He was a member of the Methodist church and the Masonic Lodge at Missouri Valley where he held membership for forty years. Mr. Simpson will be remembered by Onawa people for his excellent character and his courteous manner in doing business. He was the station agent here at the time that the greater part of the river work was going on and the stub line was built to the river. Sadly, Amy passed away in October 1939 while the Simpsons resided in Onawa. James F. Simpson, 68, a former agent of the Chicago & North Western Railway Company in Onawa died at the home of his son, Newell Simpson, in Modale, Iowa on Friday, March 30th, 1951 after a long illness. He had suffered for five years. Funeral services were held at the Modale Methodist church on Monday. Interment was in Rose Hill cemetery, Missouri Valley. In addition to his son Newell Simpson of Modale, he is survived by another son, Alfred Simpson, part owner of the Cash & Carry Store; three brothers, John of San Francisco, Calif.; Harry of Jasper, Minn.; and Alfred of Chicago; also four sisters, Mrs. Harry S. Neviller of Sioux City; Mrs. E. C. Thomas of San Jose, Calif.; Mrs. J. L.
