Description	:	Dad was born July 22, 1026 to Elmer and Anna (Switzer) Dokken in Ward County. He attended school in Des Lacs. He served in the United States Navy from 1944 – 1946 and with the United States Naval Reserves from 1948 to 1953. He worked for Standard Oil in Westhope, North Dakota until 1953. While he was in Westhope he met and married Anna Faller. She passed away in April of 1953. Dad then moved to Ray and worked for Northwest Mutual Aid Telephone until his retirement in 1990. Dad met our mother Louise (Nelson) Dokken while working for the telephone... Read More	Dad was born July 22, 1026 to Elmer and Anna (Switzer) Dokken in Ward County. He attended school in Des Lacs. He served in the United States Navy from 1944 – 1946 and with the United States Naval Reserves from 1948 to 1953. He worked for Standard Oil in Westhope, North Dakota until 1953. While he was in Westhope he met and married Anna Faller. She passed away in April of 1953. Dad then moved to Ray and worked for Northwest Mutual Aid Telephone until his retirement in 1990. Dad met our mother Louise (Nelson) Dokken while working for the telephone company. They were married on June 9, 1956 in Glendive, Montana. After their retirement they stayed in Ray with the exception of spending winters in Chandler, Arizona for about 10 years. He was once President of the Ray Park Board and a member of the American Legion. After his diagnosis with Alzheimer’s in February of 2012, he entered the Tioga Nursing Home, then moving to The Benedictine Center in Garrison in June of 2012, where he lived at the time of his death. Earl was preceded in death by his wife Anna in 1953 and Louise in 2014, his parents, his brothers Duane and Linden. Survivors include his son, Dayle Aldrich, daughter Janet (Wes) Johnson, Tioga, daughter LeAnn (Cal) Tofte, Williston grandchildren; Heidi (Mark) Facciano, Santa Rosa, CA, Jeremy Johnson Kihei, Maui, HI, Jenny Dunbar, Williston, Kalliann (Jason) Arson, Williston, great grandchildren; Tony and Guilianna Facciano, Blake and Ashton Arnson and Tilden Dunbar.
