Mrs. Reece had worked for Atchison Leather Products, Atchison County Courthouse and the former Robertson Drug Store in Atchison. Read More	ATCHISON -- Edith L. Reece, 76, formerly of Atchison, died Friday, Oct. 20, 2000, at a St. Joseph, Mo., hospital. Mrs. Reece had worked for Atchison Leather Products, Atchison County Courthouse and the former Robertson Drug Store in Atchison. She also was an Avon Representative for 34 years before she retired in 1990. She was born May 14, 1924, in Atchison, the daughter of Frank and Martha Vessar Hundley. She graduated from Atchison High School in 1942. Mrs. Reece was a member of First Christian Church, Business and Professional Women, auxiliaries to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and the Atchison Hospital, and Atchison Home Extension Unit. She married Robert I. Reece on Jan. 18, 1947, in Atchison. He survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Linda Lance and Connie Duis, both of St. Joseph, Mo.; three sisters, Ruth Ann Vessar, Cummings, Mary Smith, Carlsbad, N.M., and Bernice Brown, Atchison; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home in Atchison. Burial will be at Sumner Cemetery south of Atchison. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Sumner Cemetery or Hands of Hope Hospice, sent in care of the funeral home.
