Although momentarily expected it came as a sad blow. A good, christian young man, beloved by all who knew him, and an example of manhood all men should follow. He was a kind son, a loving brother and was ever doing good among his fellow men. Deceased was born in Houston, Minnesota, May 6, 1881 and died at 12:15 a.m., Saturday, January 18, 1902, at the age of 20 years, 8 months and 11 days. Eleven years of his life was spent at his birth place and since 1893 he has made his home here with his parents, where he secured a brief education in the schools, which was supplemented with a year's work at the Agricultural College at Brookings, South Dakota. On January 8, 1894, he was converted and January 19, he received the rite of baptism and associating himself with the local Swedish Baptist church of which he was a faithful and consecrated member. His untimely death leaves a vacancy in the home and a large circle of friends. For two years he was in ill health and suffered much and during that period he showed a wonderful spirit of hopefulness and patience until he saw God's will in the matter when he became perfectly resigned to the inevitable, anxiously awaiting the time when he should join the Heavenly throng. The disease which fastened its clutches on Edward's body was Tubercular Laryngitis. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 1:30, from his home, by Revs. Olson and Lundstrom, and then the remains were taken to the church where Revs. Andeer, Hoelscher and Olson conducted the services. A large crowd was present an the services were very impressive. The remains were laid to rest in the Oakwood cemetery.
