Description	:	Edward H. Rausher, who has been critically ill for some time, died at his home southeast of Nelson, Tuesday of this week. The Nelson Gazette (Nelson, NE), Thursday, December 28, 1944; pg. 1 ===================== Edward Henry, son of John Henry and Sarah Rausher, was born October 19, 1876, on the farm near Nelson, where he passed away December 26, 1944, at the age of 68 years, 2 months and 7 days. His entire life was spent on this farm with the exception of eight years of his boyhood which was spent in Nelson. In the year of 1910 he was united in marriage to Eva Bartlett of Nelson, Nebraska. To this union were born five children - three girls and two boys - one son preceding him in death, in the service of his country. His sufferings were long and severe. All that medical skill and anxious, willing, loving hands could do was done but of no avail. All through his illness he was patient and thoughtful of those around him. He leaves to mourn his death his wife one brother, Cam of Nelson, his children, Clare Rausher, Mrs. Virgil Stowers, Mrs. Ross Reeve, and Elsie Rauscher all of Nelson, and four grandchildren; also many other relatives and friends. Two precious ones, from us have gone, Their voices we loved are still, A place is vacant in oor (sic) home, Which never can be filled. God in His wisdom has recalled The ones His love had given And though we miss them here on earth, Their souls are safe in heaven. The funeral service was held in the Methodist church Friday afternoon at two o'clock, conducted by Rev. V.R. Daniels of Harvard and Rev. Clarence Powell, the local pastor. Interment in Nelson cemetery. CARD OF THANKS We wish to express our sincere thanks to all who aided us during the illness and death of our dear husband and father, and in the loss of our beloved husband, son and brother; and also for the beautiful floral offerings.
