ERNEST GEUDER CALLED BY DEATH FUNERAL HELD TUESDAY AFTERNOON AT ST. JOHN'S LUTHERAN CHURCH The daughter of Adam and Kathleen Seipple, was born September 17, 1866, in Glen Haven, Wisconsin. She received excellent instruction in the Christian doctrine by the Rev. F. Besel and was confirmed in April, 1879. On February 7, 1888, she was married to Ernest Geuder. The Lord blessed this union with 11 children, 6 boys and 5 girls. He preceded her in death, passing away in December, 1909. True to her confirmation vow she held on to the one thing needful, excersised herself in the Christian virtues, performed her God-given tasks joyfully, and took a deep and proper interest in the spiritual things of her church. Meed and mild-mannered in her personality, she never projected herself upon the attention of others. For these very excellent virtues she was chosen to occupy an office at one time or another in the various societies of the church; thus she was president in the Ladies' Aid for 7 years, and at this time held the office of a secretary. In the Mission society she also occupied this office. The church she served as organist and choir member, and thus she made herself useful in every way possible. It was a joy to work with her; one could talk matters over with her, since she was ever willing to learn and never thought she knew it all. Some years ago she suffered on account of some head trouble, but relief came. Last summer she was under the doctor's care, and apparently, some recovery took place. On January 4 she attend church in the morning, this being her last church service, and in the afternoon attended Ladies' Aid. In the afternoon she complained about a chill, and the next day she to bed, to suffer her last illness. She was on her way to a better world. While improvement was noticed occasionally, it was determined that she rise no more. Death came in the early hours of the morning of January 31, to claim her soul for a better world, at the age of 64 years, 4 months and 14 days. All that children could do, her children did for her. All that loving care and tender love can provide was cheerfully rendered by all of her children, who truly loved her and were devoted to her, and her twin sister, Mrs. Louis Geuder, showed herself a true twin in these sad hours. Neighbors and relatives and friends vied with each other to make her painful sickness as comfortable as is humanly possible. Those that deeply mourn her going are her children, Mrs. Mathias Duwe, Leonard, Mrs. Fred Ortmann, August, Lydia, Herman, Mrs. Ernest Pufahl, Ewald and Mrs. Guy Luft; 8 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; 3 sisters, Mrs. Anna Kohler, Mrs. Louis Geuder and Mrs. Ben Roth. And there are many others who are saddened by her death. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the St. John's Evangelcal Lutheran Church, Rev. Emil Lehne officiating. Burial was made in the City Cemetery. But she lives and triumphs through her faith; She can truly rejoice and say: O Jesus, thou are mine and I am thine Now and forever more!
