KOESTER Elmer Carl Henry Koester, the son of Henry and Caroline Bredemeier Koester, was born March 2, 1901 near DuBois, Nebraska and passed away after a sudden illness at the Pawnee County Memorial hospital on Thursday, January 28, 1960. He had reached the age of 58 years, 10 months and 26 days. He was baptized in Friedens United Church of Christ and confirmation on March 28, 1915. by the Rev. G. Wullschueger. On December 25,1939 he was united in marriage with Dora Sumerhalder. To this union was born a daughter, Ruth. They also took into their home, Ann, whom the adopted. In 1955 they moved from the home place sooth of DuBois to a farm east of Pawnee City where he resided until his death. Preceding him in death were his parents, one brother, Herman, and two sisters Lillian (Mrs. Sylvan Russell) and Ida. Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Dora, daughters Ann and Ruth, a niece Irene and her husband, Densel Fankhauser, three great nieces, Charlotte, Janet and Carolyn Fankhauser, many cousins and a host of friends. The service was held in Friedens church, Sunday January 31, with the ministers Robert Holbrook of DuBois, and A. E. Werner officiating.
