Russell passed away at the Pawnee hospital Tuesday forenoon, February 8. Lillian Koester was born August 3, 1894 and died February 8, 1927, aged 32 years, 6 months and 5 days. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Koester and was born and grew to young womanhood on the old home place a short distance southeast of DuBois. On November 11, 1925, she was married to S. I. Russell and on January 25, 1927, a bright baby girl came to bless their home. During her illness medical science and loving hands did everything possible to save the young mother from death, and for a time every hope was held for her recovery, but a short time ago her condition grew worse and on Tuesday morning relatives were notified that the end was near. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. O. J. Krueger at the Evangelical church south of town Thursday afternoon at 2:00 and the body was laid to rest in the cemetery adjoining the church. The deceased leaves to mourn her untimely death, her husband, S. I. Russell, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Koester, two brothers, Herman and Elmer, and one sister, Miss Ida Koester, all of whom have the heart felt sympathy of the entire community in this their hour of great sorrow. -DuBois Press Mrs. Russell wife of the DuBois banker, was a niece of Mrs. W. L. Kauffman, her brother's daughter. Mr. and Mrs. Kaufrfman received word of the death of Mrs. Russell just after their return from the funeral of their brother-in-law, George Ayers in Sabetha. They attended the funeral Thursday.
