Description	:	Elmer H. Namanny (1922 - 1980) Elmer H. Namanny was born on February 26, 1922, at Charter Oak, Iowa, the son of John and Anna Plagge Namanny. He died on Saturday, March 1, 1980, at the Clarkson Hospital, Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 58. Elmer was raised on a family farm near Charter Oak. Namanny was born on February 26, 1922, at Charter Oak, Iowa, the son of John and Anna Plagge Namanny. He died on Saturday, March 1, 1980, at the Clarkson Hospital, Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 58. Elmer was raised on a family farm near Charter Oak. He received his formal education in the rural schools near his home. He was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in the Lutheran faith. On December 28, 1941, Elmer was united in marriage to Marcella Keller at St. John's Lutheran Church in Charter Oak. They made their home on a farm near Ricketts until 1946 when they moved to a farm east of Schleswig. Later in 1955 Elmer moved to Schleswig where he worked in the trucking field. In 1975 he became the Chief of Police in Schleswig. Elmer retired early in 1979 due to ill health. He has continued to make Schleswig his home. In addition to his parents, Elmer was preceded in death by one son Richard and one sister Leona. Survivors include his wife Marcella of Schleswig, one son Gerald and his wife of Cherokee and two grandsons, Adam and Andrew. Also by a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, March 4, 1980, at 10:30 a.m. at the Huebner Funeral Home in Denison. Burial was in the Morgan Cemetery. The Rev. Richard Henderson officiated at the services.
