Information provided by: Find A Grave contributor Pete57 ---------------------------------------------- Emil Dankert, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hans Dankert, was born in Holstein Germany in 1870. At the age of 4 years he came to America with his parents and resided on a farm two miles south of Worms until the year 1892 when he was united in marriage to Miss Ida Quandt and moved to the farm 2 miles north of Worms where he lived until his death on Friday morning, December 31, 1948. To this union thirteen children were born, all of whom survive. They are: Arthur Dankert of Dannebrog; Herbert Dankert of Palmer; Mrs. Clara Heider, Mrs. Rosa Ottemueller, Mrs. Frieda Nietfeld and Armin Dankert of Grand Island; Albert Dankert, Palmer; Richard Dankert, Central City; Mrs. Minnie Niermeier, Ludell, Kans; Martin Dankert, Omaha, Irma Dankert, Los Angeles, Alma and Ernest Dankert at home. Also 38 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Matilda Quandt, Fairland, Okla; two brothers, Frank of Palmer and John of Chambers. His wife passed away on March 19, 1934 and three sisters also preceded him in death. Mr. Dankert was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a member of the Zion Lutheran church of Worms all his life. Although in poor health for the past three years, he was able to attend church regularly until last May when he suffered a stroke and was more or less bedfast until his departure from this earth at the age of 78 years, 3 months and 9 days.
