The daughter of August Quandt and Henrietta Klemp, the deceased was born July 13, 1869 at Readfield, Waupacca county, Wis., where she was baptized in the Lutheran church by Rev. Marquardt. With the family, she came to Nebraska and Hall county in 1880, and in 1833, was confirmed by Rev. August Baumhoefner, in the Trinity Lutheran church, of this city. On April 29, 1892, she was united in marriage to Emil Dankert and a year later they moved to the present homesite, their residence for more than forty years. To this union seven sons and six daughters were born, all of whom, with her husband, survive to mourn her passing. They are Arthur of Dannebrog; Herbert and Albert, at Palmer; Armin, Grand Island; Richard, Gladstone, Martin and Ernest, residing at home; Mrs. Clara Heider, Mrs. Rose Ottemueller and Mrs. Frieda Nietfeldt, all of Grand Island, and the Misses Minna, Irma and Alma, residing at home. Also left to mourn her passing are 29 grandchildren, four brothers, Fred and Albert Quandt of Grand Island; William in Oklahoma, and John in California, and one sister, Mrs. Augusta Witzke, Orange, Cal. A brother, Gustave, and sister, Louisa Nielmoth, preceded her in death.
