Eagle Ernest Ralph Eagle, 93, Topeka, died Friday, May 1, 1992, at a Topeka hospital. Mr. Eagle spent most of 53 years in banking and insurance including more than 25 years with the Kansas Insurance department. He was a veteran of World War I. He was born Oct. 19, 1898, on a farm in southern Osage County, a son of Walter M. and Millie B. Truitt Eagle. He was graduated in 1917 from Quenemo High School and attended the University of Kansas in 1918 at Lawrence. Mr. Eagle was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Topeka, a life member of Orient Lodge No. 51, AF&AM, a member of Scottish Rite Bodies of Topeka, Arab Shrine, Capitol Post No. 1 of the American Legion and Down Town Optimist Club. He was a life member of the K.U. Alumni Association and the Gold Medal Club, a life member of Native Sons and Daughters of Kansas and a member of Kansas Farm Bureau. He was married to Louise K. Logan on Dec. 29, 1920, at Quenemo. She died April 16, 1982. Survivors include two sisters, Ruth Vogler and Florence E. Watts, both of Blackwell, Okla. Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday in First Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Mr. Eagle will lie in state after 8 a.m. Sunday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church Endowment Fund, 817 S.W. Harrison, 66612.
