She attended school in Pocahontas and graduated from Mt. St. Joseph High School, Dubuque. She attended Mt. St. Joseph College, now Clarke College, for one year and later joined the Maryknoll Convent of Maryknoll, N.Y. Due to ill health she did not remain in the convent and made her home in Dubuque until 1959 when she went to Fort Dodge and lived with her sister, Mrs. Frances Carey, until becoming a Marian Home resident April 1, 1962. Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Dan (Eleanor) O’Brien of Pocahontas, Mrs. Frances Carey of Fort Dodge, and Mrs. Josephine Posakony of Cresco, and a brother Leonard Shimon of Marquette, Mich.
