Grace Shimon, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Shimon was born on a farm in Roosevelt township Jun 25 1904. Several years later she moved with the family to Pocahontas where she grew to womanhood. She attended Sacred Heart school and graduated with the class of 1922. Following her graduation she attended Iowa State Teachers college at Cedar Falls, where she prepared herself for the teaching profession. She was successful teacher in the rural schools of this county during her three years at this work. She united in marriage with Lawrence N. Schall on Febrary 23, 1927. Four children were born (Continued on page eight) “Mrs. L. N. Schall” “to this union, all of whom survive their mother. They are James, 9, Jack, 8, Norma Jeanne, 6, and Jerry, 4. Following their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Schall resided on a farm near here. The family has been living at Knoxville since 1935. Besides her husband and four children, Mrs. Schall is survived by six brothers and six sisters: Albert C. Shimon, Wm. Shimon, Thos. M. Shimon, Mrs. W. J. Posakony, Mrs. Frances Carey, Leo Shimon and Mrs. D.J. O’Brien of this city; Mrs. W. L. Wilson, Plover; Mrs. E. C. Kepler, Waverly; Esther Shimon, Dubuque; George Shimon, Emmetsburg; and Leonard Shimon, Marquette, Mich. Those attending the funeral from a distance were: Mrs. Catherine Schall and Helen Schall of Eagle Grove, Mr. and Mrs. John Hart of Mason City, Mrs. J.M. Schall, Mr. and Mrs. Lignori Schall and Mrs. Steelsmith of Odgen; Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Schlesman, Mr. and Mrs. Donald O’Herron, Mr. and Mrs. Edward O’Herron, Mrs. J.J. O’Herron, Mrs. Bryce Henning, Mr. and Mrs. Robt, Cunningham and daughter Eleanor and E. H. Holder all of Carroll, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Samuels of Humboldt, Dr. and Mrs. E. C. Kelper of Waverly, Miss Esther Shimon of Dubuque, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Shimon of Emmetsburg, Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Wilson of Plover, Mr. and Mrs. F. J.
