Casner OBITUARY THE CHARITON HERALD-PATRIOT Chariton, Iowa Thursday, November 13, 1980 BOLDT Eva Maddy Boldt, daughter of John and Ella Maddy, was born October 24, 1914 on a farm in Pleasant Township, Lucas County, and departed this life Saturday, November 8, at her home in Chariton at the age of 66. Her early life was spent on the farm and after attending Zion school she moved to Gladbrook, where she was employed as a housekeeper. On January 2, 1938 she united in marriage to Raymond Boldt and they moved to Lucas County near Russell, where she remained until she moved to Chariton in 1978. Three children came to bless this home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, on June 14, 1978 and her parents. She is survived by a son Dennis Boldt of Russell; two daughters, Ann Remington of Chariton and Mary Davis of Morgan, Minn.; two sons-in-law, Clifford Lane Davis and Jerry Remington; one daughter-in-law, Zelda Boldt; four grandchildren, DeAnn, Scott, Chris and Shana; three sisters, Edith Roebuck of Des Moines, Elsie Durham of Knoxville and Leila Clark of Clear Lake; a brother, Frank Maddy of Washington State; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Eva loved the farm, wrote poetry, enjoyed music and being with friends and her family. At one time she wrote chuckles and serious thoughts for several papers. She is not gone, she is just away. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Monday, November 10, 1980, at the Fielding Funeral Home with the Rev. Wauneita McConnell conducting. Burial was in the Zion Cemetery.
