Mrs. Cook was employed by Hallmark Greeting Cards and Josten's American Yearbook several years. She and her husband formerly owned and published newspapers in Leavenworth, Riley, Courtland, and Clifton, Kansas. She was born Nov. 27, 1917, southwest of Clay Center, the daughter of John I. and Mary James Spark. She attended schools in Clay Center, Wakefield and Concordia, and attended Miltonvale Wesleyan College in Miltonvale, Kan. Mrs. Cook was a member of First Church of the Nazarene. She was married to Roy C. Cook July 30, 1943. He died Feb. 20, 1977. Survivors include two sons, John Cook, Fort Scott, and Bruce Cook, Topeka; three stepsons, William Cook, Leavenworth, Max Cook Bartlesville, Okla, and Robert Cook, Manhattan: three sisters, myrtle Newhouse, Visalia, Calif., Berneice Barnes, Topeka, and Ina R. Spark, Denver, Colo.; and seven grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Church of the Nazarene. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Mrs. Cook will like in state after 3 p.m. today at Newcomer-Differ.
