Gish Topeka State Journal, Saturday, July 1, 1933, page 6A: Mrs. D.N. Gish Is Killed Topekan in Fatal Crash East of Clay Center Early Today Clay Center, Kan., July 1(AP)--Mrs. David N. Gish, Topeka, was killed in an automobile accident 12 miles east of here on U.S. highway 40N early this morning. The automobile in which she and five other members of her family were riding overturned. The occupants of the car were hurled into a field near the road. Looses gravel was ascribed as the cause of the accident. ----------- Information relative to the destination of the Gish family was scant here today, altho neighbors expressed the belief they were on a vacation trip. Mrs. Gish was probably 65 years of age, neighbors said, and her husband, who was accompanying her, is a retired Santa Fe employee. There are five daughters and two sons in the family, but it is not known who were accompanying the mother at the time of the fatal accident. One daughter, Miss Nettie Gish, and a son, Roland Gish, reside with the family at 1291 Mulvane street. Two other daughters, who teach school, have been visiting there this summer. They are Miss Edna and Miss Bertha Gish. In addition, there are two other daughters, Mrs. Robert Carter, of Topeka, and Mrs. James, of Agenda, and a married son, Owen Gish, who does not live in Topeka.
