Description	:	OBITUARY Frank Bilger, son of Jonathan and Elizabeth Bilger was born January 22, 1861 at Pleasant Gap, Pa., and passed away at his home near Oneida March 22, 1936 at the age of 75 years, 2 months. Read More	OBITUARY Frank Bilger, son of Jonathan and Elizabeth Bilger was born January 22, 1861 at Pleasant Gap, Pa., and passed away at his home near Oneida March 22, 1936 at the age of 75 years, 2 months. Mr. Bilger's sudden death was a great shock to his family and friends. He was ill only a few days with influenza which developed into pneumonia. The family did not realize he was seriously ill until Sunday morning. He had been up and around most of the time. He became suddenly worse and passed away Sunday evening at 9 o'clock. Mr. Bilger grieved deeply over the death of his wife, who preceded him just ten weeks. He was always a strong, sturdy man and very active for his years. It was his desire to live to be the age of his mother who was 98 years old at her death. Mr. Bilger's early life was spent in Pennsylvania. He came to Kansas at the age of 20 years staying only one year. He then went to Texas where he lived five years. He then returned to Severance, Kas., where he remained until 25 years ago when he moved to his present home near Oneida. He has always followed the occupation of farming. He was very much interested in the new improvements of farm equipment. Mr. Bilger was a member of the Odd Fellow order for 50 years. In his younger years he took active part in the order having filled all the offices. He was united in marriage to Mary Kinsley June 26, 1895, at Leona, Kas. To this union were born four children: Dorothy of Topeka; Jay, Lawrence and Mary Elizabeth of the home. Besides the immediate family left to mourn his passing he leaves two brothers: Newton Bilger, Valley Falls, Kas.; Wilson Bilger, Bellefonte, Pa.; and six sisters: Nellie Coral, and Miss Annie and Virgie Bilger, Mrs. Phoebe Hile, Pleasant Gap, Pa.; Mrs. Charles Bender, Lancaster, Pa.; and Mrs. Loretta Yohey, Cincinatti, Ohio. A sister, Mrs. Mary Reece of Bellefonte, Pa. preceded him in death March 11 last, with pneumonia. He was of German Lutheran faith. The whole community sympathizes with the Bilger children in the death of their parents so close together. Funeral service was conducted by Rev. Charles Richard at the M.E. church in Oneida Tuesday afternoon. Interment at Oneida cemetery. The Odd Fellows Order conducted the burial service at the cemetery. The songs, "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" "Some Time We'll Understand" and "There Will Be No Night There" were sung by Mrs. Wes Noble, Mrs. Jake Anderson, Orville Wittmer and S.S. Stevenson accompoanied by Mrs. John Prawl. The pallbearers were John Swartz, Henry Swartz, Art Thompson, Bob McDaniel, Garth Brinkworth and Mell Lancaster. Those coming from a distance to the funeral were Newton Bilger and son Fred, Valley Falls, Kas., Mrs. Ed Kinsley and daughter Mary, Leona Kas., Andy Delaney, Leona, Kas.; Mr. and Mrs Ben Mize and Francis Elliott of Topeka.
